    Minto Purshotam Gupta

    Chairman and Managing Director

    Minto Purshotam Gupta has been a member of Deccan Healthcare Board of Directors since 1998 and brings a relentless avidity for innovation and a passion for personalised
    healthcare to his role as Chairman & Managing Director since 2007. A trained bio-scientist and industrial manager, Minto established his career starting in 1981 with the Tata Group, Rallis, pinnacling to Marketing Controller- Vice President. Thereafter, as the President of SOL Pharmaceuticals Limited, a 300 Crores company with over 2000 employees, going global under his leadership, the company introduced concept of corporatization along with creating new brands and services. An unconventional thinker not afraid to ask questions and explore new avenues. With a drive to advance personalised healthcare, he pursued consultancy and worked on his passion in research & development of health food supplements to eradicate micronutrient deficiency and reduce risk of over 100 diseases afflicting mankind. Taking his professional ambition forward, he joined DHC in 2007 as a Chairman & Managing Director initiating the strategic decision to restructure the company from pharmaceutical industry to nutraceutical industry with the launch of OxyflaxTM brand, the vegetarian source of Omega-3. In 2010, DHC set up its innovation centre and manufacturing unit to ensure that everyone receives innovative healthcare solutions and healthy lifestyle foods – regardless of where they were born or live and their purchasing power.

    A strong beliver of, “There is no success without failure! When you’re pursuing groundbreaking innovations, setbacks go with the territory – Unless you have the courage to fail, you’ll never be successful. Innovation is about taking risks and accepting failure.” DHC had a rebirth facing challenges post floods and devestation in Uttarakhand in 2013 building it to what DHC is today – an emerging leader. Under his able management, he consolidated the position of the company with a better bottom line and more focused and market-oriented approach. It is his strong belief that we should celebrate our failures just as we celebrate our successes. About his values he says, "The values that my wife and I are passing on to our children can be summed up with the phrase ‘Do unto others as you would have them do unto you’. This includes respecting your fellow humans, fairness and a sense of shared responsibility for society."

    Today, he as progresses towards his passion "M.N.D Hatao – Khushiyaa Lao", he is creating the conditions that will allow scientific success to happen: be open to new ideas, and to have the courage to take risks and challenge commonly-held views once in a while. Sharing his vision and success strategies with his employees- his leaders, he gives them freedom to work on their ideas and above all, plenty of time and staying power.

    Director

    Dr. Narendra Singh, Director Deccan Healthcare, having a strong foothold in the financial sector has held the reins to some of the largest corporate banks in India. Managing and being an executive director, Dr. Singh has headed field functionaries towards achieving corporate goals in the banks he has worked for. With over 35 years of experience leading executive roles in banks such as Allahabad Bank, Corporation Bank and The Bank of Maharashtra, he is a focus driven individual firm in his beliefs when it comes to handling finance and accounts.

    As he says,” Our company’s shared commitment to corporate responsibility rests with every Deccan Healthcare associate. Across Deccan Healthcare, we aim for transparent reporting of annual targets and long-term objectives, as well as establish management and associates to create sustainable value for Deccan Healthcare in all areas of our business. Corporate responsibility is endorsed and ingrained at the highest level in the company. The Committees and senior leaders oversee our company’s strategy and governance on corporate responsibility and key issues that may affect the company’s business and reputation.”

    With his impeccable performances throughout his career he is a force to reckon, with substantial work in the financial inclusion projects which were done all over the districts of Maharashtra as the Chairman of SLBC. He has implemented the ambitious government projects of DBT with a vision for the next 5 years in 2012. This helped boost bank growth which enabled certain small sized banks to migrate to mid- sized banks, envisioning sustainable growth for the development of the sector. His achievements have been recognized throughout Administration, Marketing, Customer care, Finance and Accounting.

    With a rich and wide experience handling the governance of financial aid, law, management, trade, economics just to name a few, Dr. Narendra Singh has always been articulate with his proficiency in banking sector, bringing a very systematic approach applying his financial expertise in Deccan Healthcare.

  • Yezdi Jal Batliwala +

    Yezdi Batliwala

    Independent Director

    Yezdi is a highly energized individual and a very persuasive communicator with strong interpersonal and management skills. He is well recognized as a motivator and mentor with experience in planning and implementing successful sales and marketing strategies.

    As the former director of TATA Finance Securities Ltd., he systemized stock exchange deals by setting up a research team and finalized the tie-up with TD Waterhouse Securities, the second largest online broking house in the world. Driven to achieve goals and overcome obstacles in today’s competitive environment, he has spearheaded the establishment of high schools, management institutes, Ayurveda College, and hospital. He established the first English medium school in the slums of Dharavi and has established Sri Sri University, a 185 acre educational institute in Odisha.

    Yezdi has always been an efficient forward-focused, multi-lingual professional. At DHC, he is directing strong and sustainable revenue- income gains with equal expertise in capturing cost reductions through process redesign and performance management. Having a knack to consistently apply business analysis and critical thinking skills to develop new systems and enhance existing operations he is playing a key role in augmenting our Company’s growth strategies and CSR policies.

  • Hitesh Mohanbhai Patel +

    Hitesh, the Promoter and the Director of Deccan Healthcare is the constructive resolve behind the strategic decisions of our Company since 2016 to ensure a robust structure.

    Being passionate about his work and persistent in providing quality above all, Hitesh over his years of experience in the financial sector has been involved in raising over USD 50 million through Mergers, IPO’s and private equity placements. He played a fundamental role in the development and progress of macro investment themes by interpreting and highlighting the weaknesses of specific companies to assess and understand the needs of the business with proficient management skills. With over 12 years of experience in Private Equity Placement, his post investment knowledge is impeccable.

    With the ambition to channel his leadership in the growth of Deccan Healthcare, he is implementing unique and fresh opportunities and perspectives for our Company. Hitesh is always keen on applying his understanding of value driven aspects, providing strategies to strengthen and manage the company’s business. With tremendous knowledge in the financial sector, he augments governance qualities to the Company’s board and emphasizes on performance and strategic positioning.

  • Savita Bhutani +

    Director

    Savita Bhutani, has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2017. She brings a very interesting aspect to Deccan Healthcare, with her philanthropic and social responsibility skills.

    As she says, “Our mission and vision at Deccan Healthcare complement our strategy, and together they support the creation of value over the long term for our company, our shareholders and society. We aim to develop innovative products in growing areas of healthcare where we can make a real difference. At the same time, we are expanding our presence in the emerging markets of Asia, Africa and Common Wealth countries, where populations are growing fastest and where demand for access to high-quality supplements and healthcare is also likely to continue to increase.”

    She is a member of the North India Apex for SriSri Institute of Agricultural Science and Technology trust has always been enthusiastic about a healthy lifestyle, well versed in the art of living, which she has conducted because of her love for yoga and inculcating the love of maintaining a healthy life style onto others. She has also headed AOL for state of ASSAM for UN programs such as Mission green Earth, Stand up and Speak out, Stand up and Take action, Hand washing and each one - teach one, which were hugely successful in the state.

    These traits have made her a pioneer in promoting and socializing with crowds to make them aware of the issues that our society has been facing. With over 16 years of being a trustee and managing Assam Shishu Kalyan Sadan, she has spearheaded many projects in the state of Assam such as Yogathon, Meditate India and organic farming training.

    Her persistence and patience to remove all forms of stigma, discrimination and isolation of people and make the public aware of HIV has been one of her moving missions she is proud of. With projects such as “Zero budget natural farming” which taught farmers about simplicity and drastic cuts in the cost for cultivation, are just a few of her feats that has shaped her mindset and her approach for a better society. Her projects have included her working with the Guwahati Municipal Corporation to help people be aware and improve their emotional and physical state and help develop a positive working environment. Passionate about the society Ms. Savita Bhutani, through an NGO called “Inspiration” has worked for the development of weavers in Assam helping them diversify and extend the marketing of their products to the public.

  • Meenakshi Gupta +

    Whole-time Director

    Meenakshi Gupta is DHC's President HR Admin. She has been with the company since its inception. Actively worked to transform DHC into an emerging leader in essential themes tied to development, such as emerging markets, human resource solutions, and personnel leadership.

    She holds an Masters of Science in Education Extention from Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. With the support of World Health Organisation (WHO) in 1982, she worked on an extensive research project in Gujarat where she designed and constructed an indigeneous water filter.

    Responsible for corporate development, training & education, Meenakshi also laid the vision for DHC's ambitious Persomanagement initiative. Under her able management initiative, our approach to promoting work–life balance varies from city to city. But it is always based on a common straightforward principle: to help our employees perform to their full potential. Her work covered a spectrum of cities and people with a focus on human resources and administrative roles. Additionally, in areas such as mental health and health promotion, the her team offers employees in counselling services and employee assistance programs.

    During her last three years with the company, she was responsible for and managed the successful initiation of the training academy, a foundation that is active in the area of science, education and humanity. As she says "We believe that education, awareness and training are the best ways to foster youth engagement in and responsibility towards wellbeing. With this in mind, we conduct regular training sessions, regional conferences and workshops and provide online tools in local languages to all skilled youth".

    Performance is rewarded by DHC through a transparent and consistent process that encourages fairness, continuous feedback, dialogue and development. While rewarding and recognising employees has been her most embedded value addition in retaining, motivating and attracting employees. Implementing her idea at DHC's 21st Annual Day Celebrations, successful employees were recognized for their contribution to the business to reinforce a culture of performance and innovation.

    Her vision for DHC is to do good business- an ethical business. By cultivating a culture of openness, she aims to encourage all associated with DHC to grow their strengths, recognise and address their weaknesses, and continually strive to accomplish ambitious goals our company has set.

     

  • Rani Venkata Satya Umamaheswara Rao +

    Director

    His professional career progressed at Deccan Healthcare from the year 2000 and has held a series of managerial positions of increasing responsibility in the company. Under his able management, our corporate affairs team has expanded in remit and can encompass pretty much anything and everything that may impact on a business’s brand and reputation.

    Uma has a strong track record in country/regional management in various industries. He began his career in marketing and customer service with NATCO, the Indian pharmaceuticals, and rose through management to the position of Assistant Manager sales and distribution at an early age. When the company was going through a turbulent phase, the then strategic partner Sun Pharma retained and deployed him to take charge of regulatory development and employee engagement in their company.

    Having graduated in Andhra Pradesh, he gained most of his training in corporate affairs on the job through managerial and professional development programs at DHC. He took on his current role at the outset of 2011.

    Delivering cut-through, he edges DHC over others to adapt to work in a variety of business environments. To meet the demands of globalization and pace of change, he initiated a call to bring in fresh perspectives from different origins.

    His vision is to create value for all DHC stakeholders and track our performance against key financial and non-financial indicators. As he says, "Right now - we believe it is essential to deliver healthy lifestyle solutions – even as we develop innovations for the future. We are passionate about revolutionizing lives. We are courageous in both decision and action. And we believe that good business leads to a more desirable life among all".
